Noticeably absent from the 2008 FV3 Triathlon Signup List are last year’s “co-winners”: Bob “Sandbag” John’s and Beau “Soviet Sub” Mc Craney.
But, the FV3 Triathlon Research Committee (FV3-TRC) has learned that each is following an established training routine:
Bob “Deny it All” Johns spends 45 minutes a day training and 55 minutes a day denying that he is training. He has even gone so far to suggest that he “might” participate but it will be for fun and likely will bike on a “beach cruiser”. Many will remember the same statements were made this time last year, right before the body-shave and co-victory.
Beau “Under the Radar” Mc Craney has been seen in LA Fitness morning, noon and night. Recently the night manager gave him a key and asked that he “lock up” on his way out. Young children now bring body boards to the pool to surf the wave like wake created from his swim. His wife has started training for the triathlon in order to get time with him.
Will the brotherly love continue? Will the Soviet Sub be able to get a big enough lead to hold off the expected "6 minute miles" from Sandbag? Only time will tell.
